Therefore, sterilization is performed in several stages starting with pre-sterilization of the dental instruments (cold sterilization).

In the pre-sterilization stage, instruments are immersed in a disinfectant solution, cleaned with special brushes, dried and wrapped in sealed airtight foils provided with special indicators which change color to indicate sterilization status.

The sterilants used are effective against a wide range of bacteria, viruses, fungi, rotaviruses, Hepatitis B virus, HCV, HIV, TB.

The pre-sterilization stage is followed by sterilization proper which is performed in an autoclave or a hot air sterilizer (steam and hot air sterilization) at a temperature of 200°C.

All these stages are constantly monitored based on sterilization parameters (indicators) that indicate whether sterilization procedures have been correctly performed.

Patient traffic in a dental clinic generates an increased germ proliferation in the area. Additionally, the use of the rotary instruments causes the contaminated fluids and material (blood, saliva etc.) to splatter.

The UV light germicidal lamp destroys 99.9% of microorganisms, bacteria, viruses, fungi and molds. The air may be purified through ionization and ozonation, and an air tester displays information on the quality of the air in the room.
