Teeth whitening using OPALESCENCE X-TRA BOOST solution

A gel containing 38% hydrogen peroxide which does not require light activation is used.

Results are apparent after about one hour. The treatment is performed under the direct supervision of the dentist.

The disadvantage of this method is that the solution contains a high percentage of hydrogen peroxide which may trigger tooth sensitivity.

Sensitivity usually disappears after 24-48 hours.

Teeth whitening using OPALESCENCE 15% (home teeth whitening treatment)

Patients may carry out this procedure at home by using special trays produced in the dental laboratory.

The dentist takes an impression of your teeth which will be used to make the trays for the teeth whitening solution.

The main disadvantage of this method is related to the prolonged time required for the treatment (10-14 nights or minimum 5 hours daily).

Another disadvantage is that the treatment may cause gum sensitivity during the whitening process as the gel may come into direct contact with the gums. Gum sensitivity disappears once the treatment is completed.

This method may be used every six months in order to maintain the color obtained using more concentrated solutions.
